### Accessible Course Design for Faculty and Developers **Presented by:** David Dixon Project Team Leader at Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College | Kate Senn Professor/Epic Project Lead at WKCTC Do you think your courses are fully accessible? What makes you think they are fully accessible? Since the launch of Blackboard Ally, instructors, instructional designers, and course developers throughout the Kentucky Community and Technical College System have come to the realization that their course materials may not always be as accessible as they seem. Topics covered include how you can educate faculty and developers in basic ADA features such as alt tags and headings, how to integrate feedback into course revisions as well as using student groups to streamline accommodation requests. Also, look at some ways that accessible course design and a tool like Ally improves the quality of the content for everyone by giving access to alternate formats of materials. By utilizing Ally and existing Blackboard tools, designers, developers and faculty will see accessibility as a seamless part of good course design.
